Please connect to Exchange Online Powershell with Global Admin Rights and run the following command:
New-MoveRequest abc@xyz.com
*replace abc@xyz.com with the UPN in question.
Submitting a move request for that mailbox is the recommended way to force reindexing an ExO-hosted mailbox. Once the move operation has been completed (progress can be checked with Get-MoveRequestStatistics) the mailbox will get re-indexed, which will fix the search.
The move process might take a few hours to even a day or two to complete. Mailboxes remain accessible and usable during this operation, so users should not experience any issues if the move is processed during working hours.
