Error when trying to verify our federated trust with exchange online

Scenario:

When trying to create a federated trust with M365 from on-premise exchange 2013, you need to verify the domain and you get the following error when trying to verify when you click update to verify:

An error occurred while attempting to provision Exchange to the Partner STS. Detailed Information "An error occurred accessing Windows Live. Detailed information: "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.".".

Resolution:

• Microsoft Federated Gateway only accepts TLS 1.2
• Even if the server had 1.2 installed and available but check and verify the TLS protocol should be TLS 1.2 on WinHTTP.
• You can add the registry items from
  https://kemptechnologies.com/blog/enabling-tls-1-2-on-exchange-server-2013-2016-part-1/
